LA PORTE, Ind. (AP) _ A deputy coroner in LaPorte County is accused of illegally selling a narcotic painkiller.

The LaPorte County Sheriff's Office says 47-year-old Dawn Maxson was arrested Thursday for selling hydromorphone, a morphine derivative prescribed for pain. She's charged with dealing a schedule I, II or III controlled substance and likely will face additional charges.
