FWPD Warns Of Recent Rash of Purse Thefts

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Police Department is asking you to keep an eye out for your purse.

They say there have been seven occasions recently where thieves have taken purses out of shopping carts after the victim walks away. The thefts took place at the Kroger stores on Bluffton, East Pettit, and West State from as far back as October of last year to Thursday of this week.

They recommend you keep your purse on you at all times, preferably with the strap over your shoulder and inside a coat. If you can, keep important items like cards, cash, checkbooks, ID, and keys on you at all times.
