Allen County Task Force Makes Recommendations

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Everyone wants a more efficient government, and an Allen County task force has made its suggestions on how to get it done.

The Allen County Efficiency and Effectiveness Task Force has wrapped up 10 months of meetings, and say the county needs to make changes to strategic planning and employee evaluations. The Journal Gazette says while the Task Force didn't recommend any structural changes, they do say officials and a group of “citizen leaders” should have an annual retreat to go over the county's goals and priorities, specifically related to the annual budget.

The task force also recommended across-the-board employee evaluations, with the implementation of “merit pay,” while admitting that particular suggestion could prove harder to implement.
