FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Even an uptick in demand for gasoline during the Fourth of July weekend couldn’t slow falling retail gas prices. Experts with GasBuddy say the average retail gasoline price for the United States has dropped for 26 consecutive days, where it now sits at $2.23 per gallon. This translates to a 16 cent drop in gas prices since the streak started.

Average retail gas prices in Fort Wayne have risen 16.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.16 per gallon Sunday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 3.4 cents per gallon.
