FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Three new troopers have joined the Fort Wayne Post of the Indiana State Police.

21-year-old Jared Fradenburgh of Middletown, 24-year-old Michael Garcia of Gas City, and 25-year-old David Kewish of Huntington were sworn in last Thursday after completing 22 weeks of intense training at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield.

During their 950 hours of training, they learned about criminal law, traffic law, emergency vehicle operations, criminal and crash investigation, and other facets of law enforcement.

The new troopers will undergo three months of field training before getting their own police cars and solo patrol responsibilities.
