ANGOLA, Ind. (WOWO): Chuck Surack, founder of Fort Wayne-based Sweetwater Sound, and his wife Lisa are donating $300,000 to build an ice arena in Angola.

The money will help with construction of Trine University’s Thunder Ice Arena, which will host the university’s men’s and women’s hockey teams, plus youth hockey programs and public skating. The Sweetwater logo will be displayed at center ice, right below the Trine University logo.

Surack’s father graduated from Trine University in 1956.

The gifts are part of Trine’s “Invest in Excellence” campaign, according to Inside Indiana Business.

The arena is expected to be complete in the fall of 2017.
