WOODBURN, Ind. (WOWO): A dead body was found near the Indiana-Ohio border Monday.

Paulding County, Ohio Sheriff Jason Landers says the body of 44-year-old Wilma Schwartz of Fort Wayne was found lying in a yard on State Line Road near Woodburn Road shortly after 10:30 a.m. Monday. The body was found by construction workers that were there to tear down a garage at the abandoned property.

Sheriff Landers says the investigation is being treated as a homicide and it appears the yard is not the scene of Schwartz’s death, meaning she was placed there afterwards. Her body had been there for several hours.

Schwartz had been listed as a missing person on March 9th of this year by Fort Wayne Police.
