Committee Considers Purdue Role at IPFW

The Senate Education Committee moves greatly revised bills on IPFW and national education standards. Senate Bill 98 addressed IPFW’s relationships with Purdue and Indiana. According to a report in the JG, Lawmakers are frustrated with Purdue University providing administrative oversight to the regional campus. A committee on the issue was held last summer and now a full report must be submitted to the General Assembly. The panel also changed Senate Bill 193, which would have withdrawn Indiana from using new Common Core standards as passed by the State Board of Education. Both now head to the full chamber for a vote.
