FWFD Responds To Early Morning House Fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Three pets were rescued from a house fire early Saturday morning. 

The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to 511 McKinnie Ave. around 2:30 a.m. on reports of a house fire. 

They arrived to find fire coming from the first and second floors of the home. 

Four people were able to make it out of the house and were taken to a hospital for evaluation. 

A dog, a turtle and a cat were rescued from the fire, but a second cat was unable to be captured. 

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
