Grant County Takes Emergency Flood Action

GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The National Weather Service has contacted Emergency Management because of high water levels brought on by heavy storms. They say at 5pm, the Mississinewa River will likely be at flood stage 12 ft., and will crest around 4 am at 16 ft.

Stonecrest area residents should initiate emergency action plans at this time and get prepared. Center Township Fire Department has been put on alert. NWS advises that it is a distinct possibility that the river could crest over 16 ft which would flood the Ballard Field and 2nd and 3rd street area.
