Indianapolis is Still in the Super Bowl Running

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO):  It was announced Tuesday afternoon that the city of Indianapolis is once again a finalist to host the Super Bowl.

Indianapolis, along with Minneapolis and New Orleans are among the cities that could host the game in 2018.  With favorable reviews following the 2012 game, which brought in over $264 million to the local economy and over 116,000 visitors to the city, that makes a strong case to host the game once again, especially when consideration is taken into the cities' long history of hosting major sporting events and conventions.

Governor Mike Pence also issued the following statement regarding Indianapolis’ Super Bowl LII bid opportunity:

“It’s exciting to hear that the NFL selected Indianapolis as one of the top three finalists for Super Bowl LII in 2018. Indiana far surpassed expectations in 2012, and we look forward to submitting another promising bid to showcase once again Hoosier hospitality and all that Indiana has to offer.”

Stay tuned to WOWO as we will follow this story.
