Indianapolis Man Charged with Murder, Claimed Baby Taken

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ A murder charge has been filed against an Indianapolis man who claims his 6-week-old son was abducted by strangers, prompting police searches of the city's near west side.

Court record showed a warrant charging Willie Wilson with murder has been issued in connection with a case dating to Aug. 27. That's the day that Wilson told police a man and woman knocked him out in an alley near his home just west of downtown Indianapolis and abducted 6-week-old Delano Wilson.

Police at one point issued an Amber Alert for the child but canceled it two days later.

Additional details on Wilson's arrest weren't immediately available. Prosecutors scheduled a news conference for later Wednesday.
