Indianapolis Ranked 9th Poorest U.S. City

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Indianapolis is ranked as the 9th poorest city in America.

FindTheBest.com used data from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey to create a list of the nation's 33 poorest Cities.

According to our Partners in News at 21Alive, the rankings were based on yearly salaries and college education, in comparison to the city's total population

Indianapolis showed an increase in income inequality and a high level of child poverty between the years of 2005 and 2013.

Detroit was in first place and Milwaukee came in second.
