Jury Finds Lafayette Couple Guilty of Child Molesting

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP): A Lafayette couple has been found guilty of repeatedly molesting the woman's 8-year-old daughter for a period ending nearly two years ago.

A jury convicted 32-year-old Elizabeth Carle and 30-year-old Cory DesArmo of all 11 counts against them on Wednesday. Carle was found guilty of four felony charges, while DesArmo was found guilty of seven felony charges.

Nearly the entire case relied on sworn statements from the victim, who testified that DesArmo forced her to perform sex acts. Both Carle and DesArmo declined to testify.

Sentencing for the couple is scheduled on April 2.
