ALLEN COUNTY (WOWO): U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan has recognized a local school as a 2013 National Blue Ribbon School. Secretary Duncan recognized 286 schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in improving student academic achievement. East Allen County Schools Meadowbrook Intermediate School is one of those recognized. The East Allen school will be recognized at a ceremony on November 18-19 in Washington, D.C.
