Michael Fabini Sentenced to 14 Years in Federal Prison

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Thursday morning, 35-year-old Michael Fabini, the man accused of maintaining a drug stash house in Fort Wayne, was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison.

In November, Fabini plead guilty in U.S. District Court, to two counts of a 44-count indictment. Those charges included drug trafficking and money laundering. As part of the plea agreement, the additional counts pending against Fabini were dismissed.

Along with the prison sentence, Fabini must forfeit money held for his wife and children in brokerage accounts and he must also forfeit a monetary judgment of $5 million, the “proceeds of the conspiracy,” according to court documents.

In October, Fabini's  co-conspirator, Marshall Butler, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court, after admitting to being a part of one of the drug trafficking. Butler ran one of the stash houses for a marijuana distribution ring run by Fabini. The two were the subjects of a federal indictment unsealed in February 2013. Court documents tied them to Matthew McChesney, now serving 27 years in federal prison for drug trafficking.

The indictments came in December 2012, after federal agents raided Fabini’s home in the Cherry Hill subdivision.
