Northern Ohio County Reports Two More Flu Deaths

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) _ A county health department in Toledo says two people have died from the flu this month.

The Toledo-Lucas County health department said Thursday that one of the victims was in her 80s and the other was in her 90s.

The state Health Department announced last week that four other people around Ohio had died from the flu this season and that hospitalizations were continuing to rise.

Those other victims around the state were two teens and two young children.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said this year's vaccine may not protect against the dominant flu strain as well.

The state says getting the vaccine is still important, especially for the chronically ill, the elderly and pregnant women.
