One Person Arrested in Fort Wayne Drug Raid

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One person was arrested Monday morning after police discovered narcotics in a Fort Wayne residence.

Police received a tip that someone may have been dealing heroin out of a home on the 4400 block of Sanford Lane. Just after 7:15 a.m. Monday, police entered the residence and arrested Sherwin Underwood Jr. on counts of dealing cocaine or narcotic drugs, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a sawed off shotgun, dealing marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Another person was inside the home at the time, but was not arrested.

During the raid, members of the Allen County Department of Health were on hand to offer free HIV and Hepatitis C testing to the adults inside the home.

Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control was also called to take custody of a dog.

The investigation is ongoing.
