Some Indian Voucher Schools Overpaid by Nearly $4M

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): According to a new study, some Indiana voucher schools were overpaid by nearly four million dollars. The Indiana Non-Public Education Association reports that 80 of the 300 schools in the program were overpaid 3.9 million dollars, thanks to unintentional errors in calculating voucher costs.

Most of the errors occurred when schools didn't recognize multi-child and employee discounts before calculating voucher amounts. The schools in question have returned the money to the state. Meanwhile, the office of State School Superintendent Glenda Ritz is reviewing the information.
