South Bend Council Member Says Life was Threatened

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — A northern Indiana city council member is asking for police protection, saying someone called him threatening to kill him for being a “snitch.”

South Bend Common Council member Henry Davis Junior tells the South Bend Tribune he received the death threat on his cell phone on Thursday.

Police Capt. Phil Trent says police are investigating, but says there is little information to go on. He says officers have been informed of the threat and the department has assigned officers to watch his residence. Trent says police haven't had enough time yet to determine whether the threat is legitimate.
