Toddler Hit By Truck In Reverse Dies

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A toddler that was hit by a truck backing up over the weekend has died.

2 year old Carson Doolittle died of blunt force trauma Tuesday evening and police have ruled his death an accident.

He was hit by a pickup being backed up at a home on High Street just east of the University of St. Francis on Sunday evening. A family member reportedly told police that he or she didn't know the child was behind the vehicle when he or she was leaving the home.

Doolittle had been in critical condition for two days before he died. He's the 20th traffic fatality in Allen County this year.
