World Baseball Academy up for Share of Legacy Funds

FORT WAYNE Ind. (WOWO): A proposal to use Legacy Funds to build a World Baseball Academy facility could move forward next month.

After a new committee was created to determine how the Legacy Funds will be used, the organization's application was put on hold. On Tuesday, the committee had their first meeting. They will decide on October 8th whether to review the application from the World Baseball Academy in November. Also at next week's meeting, the committee expects to choose its final member.

According to the Journal Gazette, the World Baseball Academy is a local nonprofit organization that has generated more than $1 million for the city.

The Legacy Fund totals $48 million.  the Legacy Fund review committee will be accepting applications no later than close of business this Monday, October 6th.
