2016 Indiana State Fair begins

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): The Indiana State Fair kicks off today.

For the next 17 days, the Indiana State Fair is the place to dine and unwind.

You can enjoy a deep-fried pickle spear or a donut burger, get on the rides named “Freak Out” and “Fire Storm,” learn about Indiana’s history at the Bicentennial Pavillion, and even learn how to survive a “zombie apocalypse” through a new exhibit from the Purdue Extension.

There will also be free live entertainment every night, including Neal McCoy, Night Ranger, Blues Traveler, and Maddie and Tae.

The Indiana State Fair runs through August 21st. Find the full list of events and activities here.
