2nd Person Dies From Weekend South Bend Shootings

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) _ Authorities say a second person has died following a pair of weekend shootings in South Bend that happened about 30 minutes and a few blocks apart.

The St. Joseph County coroner's office said Monday that 20-year-old Jarina Bailey had died after being hospitalized in critical condition following an early Sunday shooting.

Police say Bailey and two others were shot on the city's west side soon after 29-year-old Dominique Jackson was fatally shot while driving a car. The others wounded with Bailey were treated for minor injuries.

Police Cmdr. Tim Corbett says investigators were trying to determine whether those shootings were related, along with gunfire Sunday afternoon at a nearby park in which no one was hurt.
