Man gets 15-Years Behind Bars for Hammer Beating

Morris Taylor Jr. beat his current girlfriend in the head earlier this year with a hammer and now he will spend, 15 years in prison.

According to the Journal Gazette, the 60-year-old was already on parole for manslaughter in the 1994 death of an earlier girlfriend.  For that, Taylor was sentenced Friday.

Last week, Taylor tried to withdraw his guilty plea to felony aggravated battery, but Allen Superior Court Judge John Surbeck accepted the plea Friday and sentenced him to a total of 18 years in prison, but suspended three years and ordered that to be served on probation.
