FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — Previously, WOWO News reported that local developers led by Daryle Doden and Chuck Surack made a formal offer to purchase the North River Property from the City of Fort Wayne for 12-million dollars.

They have since heard nothing back from the city which they say amounts to a slap in the face.

Doden and Surack also told 21-Alive that they have 18 different investment companies vying to fund the development, which mirrors what the city wants to do with the property in building a sports complex.

Surack and Doden emphasized their local ties and success in building world-class developments in Fort Wayne.

The city says they’re not interested in private developers taking the project on – and that they intend to keep moving forward as planned.
