Former Notre Dame Football Coach Enters Hospice Care

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – College football coaching icon Lou Holtz has entered hospice care, according to reports from On3 and Kyle Sutherland.

Holtz, 89 years old, coached the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for a decade, highlighted by a perfect season and national championship in 1988.

Over 33 years of coaching, he posted nearly 250 career wins and later become a television analyst for ESPN.

Holtz was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
