Butler Teen Injured When Semi Hits Car

BUTLER, Ind. (WOWO): A teen suffered several injuries after he was hit by a semi last night in DeKalb County. According to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department, 17-year-old Taylor Vandyke of Butler hit an Opposum on CR 61 in Butler and his car broke down. Vandyke started to get out when a semi driven by Brian Owens of Pennsylvania hit the vehicle. Vandyke's hazard lights weren't working, and Owens said he couldn't avoid hitting the car once he saw it as there was a vehicle coming from the other direction. Vandyke was taken to Parkview for treatment for his injuries, which included a fractured tibia and fibula.
