LANSING, Mich. (AP): The office of Michigan's attorney general plans to lead an investigation into the daring escape of a convicted killer who was captured a day later in Indiana.
 
       Michigan's Gov. Rick Snyder and Attorney General Bill Schuette announced Friday that the Department of Attorney General will lead the probe.
 
       The review is in addition to a Michigan Department of Corrections internal investigation.
 
       Snyder said in a statement “we must have an exhaustive investigation into the circumstances that led to this incident and take whatever appropriate action may be necessary to prevent future occurrences.” He says it will ensure “the most thorough” review.
 
       Schuette says the investigation will be “aggressive.”
 
       Michael David Elliot was arrested Monday in a stolen vehicle in northwestern Indiana, about 24 hours after fleeing the Ionia Correctional Facility.
