NE Indiana Woman Sentenced for Throwing Infant

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP): A northeastern Indiana woman has been sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to throwing her infant daughter against a wall because the child wouldn't stop crying. An Allen County judge sentenced 28-year-old Ashley A. Strong to 10 years in prison on Tuesday, but ordered that four years be served on probation. Strong had pleaded guilty to felony battery and neglect of a dependent.
