Albion Man Injured in Late Night Crash in Noble County

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): An Albion man was injured after a Monday night crash in Noble County.

Police say the crash occurred around 10:15 p.m., between a minivan and semi trailer on State Road 8 just west of County Road 150 E. The crash sent the minivan driver, identified as 55-year-old Bradely Bonar, to a Fort Wayne hospital.

As the semi, driven by 42-year-old Meliton Silva from Texas, was making a wide turn onto the roadway, the trailer came unhitched, straddling the center line without lights on. Bonar was traveling westbound on State Road 8 when he collided with the front end of the trailer.

As a result of the crash, Bonar was trapped inside his vehicle before being freed by the Albion Fire Department. He suffered hip and leg injuries.

Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash and subsequent test results are pending. Silva was cited for driving left of center.
