Residents Discuss Issues with VA Northern Indiana Medical Center

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): On Monday, veterans and their families gathered to discuss their concerns over the VA Northern Indiana Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Nearly 70 people attended the meeting to talk about problems at the facility, including long wait times and inadequate staffing levels.

The Journal Gazette reports the concerns were mainly directed toward VA officials and the primary care veterans are receiving.

One Fort Wayne resident, Dori Overly, says her husband is a retired U.S. Marine and is not getting the care he needs. Overly would like to see more physicians at the facility instead of “care providers.”
