Driver of Hit-and-Run will Not Serve Jail Time

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed 25-year-old Haley Nancarrow will not get jail time for the crime.

84-year-old Howard Lininger appeared before the Allen Superior Court for his sentencing on a felony count of failure to stop, resulting in injury or death.

According to the Journal Gazette, Lininger will not be able to drive a car for the next six years. On November 18th, he hit and killed Nancarrow along the north side of town and didn't report the incident.

Nancarrow's mother, Jennifer Dawkins said she didn't agree with the sentence.

The Journal Gazette reports Dawkins said, “I would've liked an apology,” after Lininger's sentencing hearing today.
