UPDATE: Plane Crash in Huntington County

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO): A small single-engine plane crashed while making an emergency landing in Huntington County.

Indiana State Police confirm the plane hit a pickup truck on the way down at about 11:45 Monday morning. The plane ended up in a ditch near  U.S. 224 at State Route 5, while a piece of the plane broke off on the road next to the damaged pickup truck.

The pilot walked away from the crash, the driver of the truck was treated for minor injuries.

Officials says the the plane lost power and was forced to make an emergency landing. That landing was praised by authorities for avoiding power lines and other hazards.
