Fort Wayne Residents Receive Blue Star Banners for Military Service

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two additional Blue Star Banners have been added to West Jefferson Boulevard to honor the military service of local residents.

The Blue Star program started in May of last year under the leadership of Mayor Tom Henry. The banners recognize Fort Wayne residents and government employees who are actively serving in the military.

New banners have been added to honor Captain Todd Nicholas Miguel of the United States Army and Airman First Class Nathaniel Wilson with the US Air Force.

The banners are displayed on light poles, located along west Jefferson Boulevard from the Time Corners area to Swinney Park.

Family and friends of deployed military personnel are encouraged to complete an application at the City of Fort Wayne's website, located HERE: www.cityoffortwayne.org/bluestarbanner
