FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Police are investigating a shooting that happened over the weekend on Fairfax Avenue in Fort Wayne.

Sunday morning, police were dispatched to the 400 block of West Fairfax Avenue around 8 a.m. to find a woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the leg.

According to our partners in news at 21Alive, she was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

There's no word on the events leading up to the shooting and the woman's identity has not been released.
