According to the Van Wert Patrol Post, US 24 near County Road 87 is closed because of a multiple vehicle crash, which led to one fatality and an ethanol leak. 

WOWO news has learned that there are a total of 8 to 10 semis involved and multiple passenger cars involved.

As of right now, there is one confirmed fatality and 9 people were taken to the hospital.

Hazmat crews are on the scene cleaning up the ethanol leak and investigators are also present to try and determine what caused the crash.

In the meantime, road closures are expected to take several hours.

As an alternate route, use CR 424 to the north.
