Statewide Tornado Drills Set for Wednesday

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The National Weather Service, Indiana State Police, the Indiana Broadcasters Association and other state and local agencies will conduct a statewide test of emergency communication systems on Wednesday between 10 and 10:30 a.m. EDT and between 7:30 and 8 p.m. EDT.

The weather service says the tornado drill will be postponed to Thursday if weather conditions warrant.

The drill is part of the Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Indiana this week as proclaimed by Gov. Mike Pence. The goal of Severe Weather Preparedness Week is to better educate people about the hazards of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms and to help everyone be better prepared when severe weather occurs.
