Daniels: Teach Bennett Text Instead of Zinn

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Former Governor Mitch Daniels had a definite idea of what textbook should be in Indiana's classrooms when he pushed to keep liberal historian Howard Zinn's readings out of them. Emails obtained by The Associated Press show Daniels and his team thought highly of conservative education leader Bill Bennett's review of American history. Daniels even promised “beers for everyone'' if his advisers showed Bennett's “The Last Best Hope'' was in classrooms in a January 27th, 2010, email.
