GREENFIELD, Ind. (AP) – A central Indiana prosecutor says he won't file charges against a woman who told police she fatally shot her suicidal husband after he began loading a gun magazine to shoot officers if they came to their home.
 
Hancock County Prosecutor Michael Griffin tells The Daily Reporter he determined 56-year-old Elizabeth Roberts was justified in using deadly force.
 
Roberts was taken into custody after 57-year-old Gary Roberts' death on Friday at the couple's rural home about 20 miles east of Indianapolis.
 
Court documents say Elizabeth Roberts had called police, saying her husband was suicidal and had numerous weapons. She told police he became irate but handed her a gun “and told her to do what she needed to do.”
