Pence Returns to New York to Court GOP Donors

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Gov. Mike Pence is in New York City courting Republican donors as he considers a potential White House bid.

Pence headed to New York Monday for a two-day trip. He's also scheduled to speak at an event being put on by a conservative news organization, the Franklin Center for Public Integrity.
The trip marks a return for Pence, who relied in part on New York money when he won the governor's office in 2012. Pence visited with real estate tycoon and reality TV star Donald Trump in 2011 and collected more than $300,000 from New York donors.

The governor's office described the trip as an “economic development mission'' to New York but spokeswomen for the governor have not said how much time he is spending on state business.
