INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ The Indianapolis Zoo is now using an online ticket sales system that adjusts prices based on projected attendance for the day.
Zoo officials expect the change to boost revenue as well as keep peak-day crowds to a more manageable level as attendance is expected to jump this summer with the opening of the new orangutan center.
Zoo vice president Karen Burns says visitors can get the lowest prices if they buy tickets online in advance.
Ticket prices are generally a little higher than the previous costs. A check Monday morning showed tickets for this coming Saturday costing about $26 for adults and nearly $20 for children. The prices for some weekdays this month were $15.70 for adults and $11.95 for children.
