INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana is adding a third lawyer to its staff to help with its caseload.
 
Kelly Eskew joined the ACLU's office in Indianapolis this week. Eskew has 13 years of experience in trial and appellate work and teaches ethics and law at Butler University and the Indiana University McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis.
 
The ACLU of Indiana has a docket of more than 40 active cases, generally involving constitutional rights. Among recent successes are a case that led to changes in the treatment of mentally ill state prison inmates and a Marion County court ruling regarding vanity license plates and freedom of speech.
 
Eskew will be the ACLU of Indiana's third acting lawyer, along with legal director Ken Falk and attorney Gavin Rose.
