Pence, First Lady Host Students for Tree Lighting

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Gov. Mike Pence and first lady Karen Pence are welcoming students to the Statehouse for a ceremonial tree lighting.

Pence is planning to read “Twas the Night Before Christmas'' to elementary school students Friday morning. The first family and the students will then walk around the Statehouse rotunda, lighting each of seven trees, one at a time.

The seven trees circle the Statehouse rotunda and were donated by the Indiana Christmas Tree Growers Association. The large wreath hanging above the trees was made and donated by the Friends of the Indiana State Archives.
