Report of Glass Found in Baby Food Leads to Recall

AMSTERDAM, New York (AP): Beech-Nut Nutrition has recalled 1,920 pounds of baby food products that could contain small pieces of glass.

The Federal Department of Agriculture announced the recall on Tuesday for 4 ounce glass jars of Stage 2 Beech-Nut Classics sweet potato and chicken, according to a news release from the agency. The containers have:

    December 2016 expiration date
    Establishment number P-68-A
    Product numbers 12395750815 through 12395750821

The product was shipped to stores across the country, according to the agency.

The Amsterdam, N.Y.-based company received a complaint from a consumer who found a small piece of glass inside a jar, the release says. It also learned that someone had an “oral injury” related to the product.
