BUNKER HILL, Ind. (AP) – Officials at the Grissom Air Museum are hailing state lawmakers' decision to include $150,000 for the facility in the state's new two-year budget.
The museum about 60 miles north of Indianapolis has about 20 aircraft on display that reflect the history of Grissom Air Reserve Base and the Air Force. The museum operates on a $125,000 annual budget.
Director Jim Price tells the Kokomo Tribune (http://bit.ly/1HXOrjc ) the new appropriation will go toward corrosion control on some of the planes and maintenance of the museum's grounds and buildings. It could also help enhance exhibits with new audio-visual technology.
Money for the museum was included each year from 1995 until it was cut due to the recession in 2008. The appropriation was reinstated in 2013 and will continue through 2017.
