ROCHESTER, Ind. (WOWO): Authorities are investigating an apparent drowning death of a Rochester man.

68 year old Dale Pugh died after falling off his boat on Lake Manitou Wednesday morning.

Pugh partially stood up and then fell into the water, according to authorities. He did not resurface and his 83 year old friend tried to rescue him, but couldn't. 

Pugh's body was recovered about an hour and a half after he fell into the water by Rochester Fire Department scuba divers. He was not wearing his floatation device. 

An official cause of death has not been announced.
