2 Children Killed In Separate Off-Road Vehicle Crashes

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says two children have died in separate accidents involving off-road vehicles in southern Indiana.

The agency says the crashes happened Sunday. Indiana conservation officers responded to an all-terrain vehicle accident around 11:25 a.m. in Rockport, and the agency says 11-year-old Kate Bruggenschmidt was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the agency, the girl was driving the ATV on private property when she lost control and it overturned, rolling on top of her and causing head trauma.

In the other crash, the Department of Natural Resources says 10-year-old Cydney Jackson was a passenger in a utility terrain vehicle when it crashed and rolled over her in Switzerland County. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.
