Police Storm Apartment after Four Hour Standoff

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Authorities used tear gas and flash-bang explosives to end a four-hour standoff early Saturday morning east of downtown Fort Wayne.

Around 12:30 a.m., units were sent to an apartment on East Wayne Street. Police say thats where Victor Perez was barricaded inside after an alleged domestic disturbance.

During this time neighbors had to be evacuated.

Using and public address system and telephone, police attempted to persuade the man to surrender.

Once inside, Perez was captured without incident. He's facing charges of battery, strangulation and criminal confinement.
