TSA: Seven people tried bringing guns onto Fort Wayne flights last year

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Seven people tried to bring guns onto a plane at the Fort Wayne airport last year.

The TSA held a special briefing at the airport Tuesday for a reminder on what can't be brought onto an airplane, saying they've caught people with brass knuckles, hammers, and pepper spray, as well as the seven gun incidents in 2015. TSA officials told the Journal Gazette most of the time when something gets confiscated you'll just lose it, but if you try to bring a gun on a flight criminal charges usually follow.

The TSA says travelers have had to abandon 25 to 50 pounds of prohibited items every month at the Fort Wayne airport alone.
